Brammo Empulse R Spec 32 Special Edition
The first production bike livery designed by Icon, this special edition Brammo Empulse R was designed to celebrate the team’s participation in the 2013 TTXGP series. The orange/blue paint, zebra graphics and “32” are pulled straight off Eric Bostrom’s race bike. Limited to 32 examples, the bike features that unique color scheme, highlighted orange battery module brackets, color coded wheel trim, a stainless steel plaque showing the unique bike number and laser cut EBoz signature, and color coordinated Bostrom Icon Airmada signature helmet. Retail price is $19,995, $1,000 more than the regular Empulse R. “As title sponsor, of Team Icon Brammo, we have the ability to design a great graphic instead of a great compromise,” explains Icon’s Joe Gustafson. “If this was traditional motorsports, there would be just too many variables to design a truly striking piece of artwork. “There is no playbook for electric motorcycling, so both organizations are completely uninhibited to try a variety of different things,” Joe continues. “With Brammo, this is shown by their design leadership in the industry by creating world- beating electric motorcycles, and then racing them against their gasoline counterparts – which no other electric brand is doing. On our end, it’s in offering gear that is industry leading in both design and function, and bringing that into the racing atmosphere. “The ICON Brammo Spec 32 is a great example of the collaboration between the two brands in this regard. Over the standard bike, it features more race-derived motor tuning to bring it closer to the prototype machine – crisper throttle response and sharper regenerative braking- and a bit more power. The very limited quantities give the customer something rarified and unique among their peers. As a customer of a Spec 32, you also get a Airmada Bostrom Signature helmet with your purchase. “A large part of the ICON Brammo Spec 32 is the inclusion of Eric Bostrom on Team ICON Brammo team – the 32 being Eric Bostrom’s race number. As ICON, we were really excited to have him on the team. Not only his he a championship winning racer, but he offers product feedback that you can’t find from anywhere else. Additionally, you won’t meet a better representative for the motorcycling community – always friendly, always outgoing, and always willing to lend honest feedback.
“Finally, the big milestone for us is being tapped to design
a motorcycle for production. Yes, we are a motorcycling apparel company, but
over our existence we’ve had a large hand in influencing the culture of
motorcycles at large, and giving a voice to a large segment of the riding
community. From our product, to our media, to we never take the easy road in
defining what motorcycylces can be stylistically, or how you are supposed to
ride. With electric motorcycles, we are bringing this influence into a brand
new genre of enthusiasts.”
